In response to the COVID-19 virus situation, students will need to complete the following steps to obtain a permit:
1. Obtain and complete a “Statement of Intent to Employ a Minor and Request for a Work Permit” (CDE Form B1-1) at: https://www.cde.ca.gov/ci/ct/we/documents/formb1-1.doc. The document must signed and completed by the employer when the student is offered a job. The form also requires hand-written student and parent signatures. Typed/docu-sign signatures are not permitted.
2. Email a scan or photo of the completed B1-1 form to the SBCUSD College and Career Readiness/Linked Learning Department at CollegeandCareerRedi@sbcusd.k12.ca.us with the live signatures to have the Work Permit issued.
3. For charter school students, please email a scan or photos of most recent grades, attendance and proof of age such as birth certificate.
4. The Work Permit will be processed, signed and sent via email.
